BENAVIDES DESIGN HOUSE, LLC is a Medford, NJ based full service Interior Design firm founded by Kristen and Oscar Benavides,
specializing in both new construction and renovation projects.
Our firm is unique in our combined backgrounds of traditional and contemporary design and architectural experience from Palm Beach, New York ,Spain and Colombia.
We collaborate with and really listen to our clients every step of the way with a trademark attention to detail so the end result reflects our clients lifestyles and personalities.
Whether you are interested in residential or commercial design, we are fully licensed to accommodate both.
From space planning and selections to Kitchen and Bath design, custom millwork, furnishings and window treatments, we take a creative and timeless approach to every detail.
We can complete a set of construction drawings that the client can then hand to multiple contractors to receive apples to apples bids on their project.
We help guide clients through the bidding process to make sure clients select a contractor that is a good fit for their needs and we continue to be their advocate every step of the way. We offer 3D renderings and animations so our clients can visualize how the finished space will look and feel confident in where they are investing their money.

KRISTEN BENAVIDES
CO-OWNER & DESIGN PRINCIPAL
Kristen is a NCIDQ certified Interior Designer, professionally licensed in NJ, with a bachelor's degree in Interior Design from Florida State University. She has worked in high end residential design since 2005. The first 10 years of Kristen's career was spent designing in Palm Beach, FL where she worked hard to perfect her craft, and learn as much as she could about every aspect of the industry. Kristen worked her way from design assistant to lead designer, running her own projects. Along the way, she also met and married fellow designer, Oscar Benavides. In 2014 they decided to move to Medford, NJ to be closer to family and Kristen spent another 4 and half years working as lead designer for a local firm. Finally in 2018, Kristen and Oscar decided to combine all their years of experience and open Benavides Design House!
Putting her heart and soul into every space she touches, is the only way Kristen knows how to design. She takes an eclectic approach to design, which allows every space she creates to stand on their own merit, rather than on current trends. Kristen believes that your interior spaces set the stage for important moments in life that become cherished memories. Her ultimate goal when working with clients is to create spaces that are unique as their personalities, and ensure that they simply love coming home!

OSCAR BENAVIDES
CO-OWNER & DESIGN PRINCIPAL
Coming up with a totally original design solution is Oscar’s idea of a perfect day! His passion for design started at Colombian National University in Bogota, Colombia, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Architecture. After graduation Oscar spent 5 years working for architecture firms in Colombia, before continue his studies at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia Spain. In Barcelona, he gained valuable experience with a residential firm focusing on contemporary architecture. Work then lead him to Palm Beach, FL, where he focused on more classical architecture and residential design.
Oscar then took his experience that spans many styles and opened his own firm in 2008 consulting for high end designers, custom home builders, and architects from Palm Beach, to NY. He now brings all his finely crafted skill to Benavides Design House, partnering with his wife Kristen. Oscar prides himself on being a very hands on designer who can understand every aspect of the construction process, helping the client to visualize their space and take the project to the next level. He believes that good design should include elements of surprise at every turn. Even more importantly, it should stand the test of time in beauty, craftsmanship, materials, and structure.
